Is your world surging and quaking?

This month I am meditating on Psalm 46. Today I reflect upon verses two and three.

Psalm 46:1-11 "2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging."

It seems that the world and everything in it is surging and foaming all around us in this time of confusion, with wars, turmoils and pestilences around the world. We even have rumors of wars and famines. Despite all these worries, cares and concerns that we might have the Lord watches over us. In this Psalm we are called to look upon all that the Lord has done. He calls us in verse 10 to "“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

My prayer for today is Father, be exalted in my life, may I put you and your will first in my life above all else. Give me strength to trust in you more each day, and help me to be still and trust in you.

-Amen
